The greatest men’s basketball coach in the history of El Camino College, Paul Landreaux led the Warriors to multiple conference championships during his tenure. He amassed a 290-48 overall record at the helm of the men’s basketball program and brought three state championships to ECC. During the 1980-81 state championship year, the Warriors were ranked first in the nation defensively as they allowed just 42.8 points per game to their opponents. Landreaux was named the conference coach of the year six times, state coach of the year three times and was named to the CCCMBCA Hall of Fame. In addition to his accolades at ECC, Landreaux also became an assistant coach at UCLA and a head coach for St. Mary’s University.
