Bio
Shelby Haroldson was named the head coach of the El Camino College women's water polo team in July 2019.
She wrapped up her fourth season at the helm in 2023 as the Warriors went 9-12 overall with a 5-4 record in conference play. The Warriors made history in 2023 as they finished third at the South Coast Conference Tournament for the first time in the program's history. She was named the SCC Co-Head Coach of the Year and it also marked the third straight season the Warriors finished fourth or better at the tournament after not placing higher than fifth since 2011.
In 2022, the Warriors had their best season since 2012 as they finished the year with an 11-11 overall record with a 5-5 mark in South Coast Conference play. The team finished fourth at the SCC Tournament for the second consecutive season.
In 2021, the Warriors put forth the best season for the program since 2012 with a 10-12 overall record and 4-6 mark in conference play. They finished fourth in the SCC Tournament for their best showing there since 2012.
The 2020 season did not take place due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In her first season at the helm, Haroldson led the 2019 Warriors to a 5-17 record and 1-8 mark in conference play.
Haroldson has served as the head coach for the Redondo Union High School Varsity Girls' Water Polo team since 2014.
Haroldson is from Redondo Beach, Calif. and played four years on the water polo team at UC Santa Barbara, graduating in 2013. She played in 132 career games and scored 104 goals with 137 assists. She also tallied 169 career steals with 12 field blocks. She was named to the All-Big West Second Team in 2012 and earned Honorable Mention in 2013.
Haroldson was born in Torrance, Calif. and played her high school water polo at Redondo Union High School where she was a three-time First Team All-Bay League selection. She earned the Redondo Union MVP Girls Athlete Award four years in a row and set the school record for steals in a season. She also competed in swimming and soccer and was a three-time RUHS Scholar Athlete.
