TORRANCE, Calif. --- Alexis Vasquez set new career highs as El Camino College scorched Chaffey, 20-8, in a South Coast Conference contest on Wednesday afternoon at the ECC Aquatics Center.

Vasquez scored five times and dished out four assists, both new career highs for the freshman attacker. She scored four of those goals during a 7-0 spurt to start the match for ECC that essentially put the game away.

Savanna Kastigar added four goals while Olivia Mozian and Yanie Camarador scored three times each in the win.

Katrina Sanchez made four saves in two quarters to secure the victory.

The Warriors essentially secured their fourth straight win in the first quarter, jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first four minutes of action. The Panthers would mount a slight fight with three goals in the period to cut the deficit to five after one but ECC fired off seven straight goals, six of them to start the second quarter, to take a 14-3 lead and they never looked back.

Vasquez tied her previous career high with four goals in the first quarter and then set a new mark with her fifth goal in the second period. She also doubled up her previous career high in assists with two in the first and two in the second on Wednesday.

The Warriors are now 2-0 in conference play and will host Cerritos on Oct. 9 for a 3 p.m. start.
