PASADENA, Calif. --- El Camino College opened South Coast Conference play with a 12-8 road victory over Pasadena on Wednesday afternoon at the Pasadena Poly High School Pool.

Melissa Cedarholm led the offense with six goals and Jackie Calhoun added four with Brooke Baudendistel dishing out four assists.

Katrina Sanchez secured her first win of the season as she made 13 saves in the cage.

The Warriors took a 5-1 lead after one quarter with Cedarholm scoring three times in the period. Calhoun also scored twice in the quarter and the Warriors looked ready to runaway with the game.

But the Lancers fought back in the second, outscoring ECC 3-1 to trail by just two going into halftime. Cedarholm scored the Warriors only goal of the second with Luna Encinas scoring twice for the Lancers while Gloria Gray added another.

The Warriors would pull away in the third quarter, outscoring the Lancers 4-0 to take a 10-4 advantage and they never looked back.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday as they head to the San Diego Miramar Mini Tournament to face Southwestern and the host Jets.
