TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College got off to a good start early but could not hang on in a 8-6 South Coast Conference loss to Pasadena Wednesday afternoon at the ECC Pool.

The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Kat Reyes and Andrea Baez but the Lancers answered with two goals late in the first to tie things up.

The defenses clamped down after that as no one scored until there were 10 seconds left in the half when Rebecca Lange beat Sophia Caravello to give Pasadena a 3-2 lead.

The Lancers would score six unanswered goals before Sonni Garcia's goal at the 7:25 mark of the fourth quarter trimmed the Warriors' deficit to 6-3. The Lancers would lead 8-4 before Baez and Reyes each scored their second goals of the match, but the Warriors ran out of time and fell 8-6.

The Warriors will head to the Rio Hondo Mini Tournament this weekend with matches against Palomar and Crafton Hills on Friday.
