Bio

Michelle Shimamoto joined the Warriors women’s volleyball coaching staff in 2017, Liz Hazell’s first year at the helm. Shimamoto then came aboard LeValley Pattison’s beach volleyball staff for the 2018 season.

She enters her third season as an assistant for the indoor team in 2019.

Shimamoto played indoor and beach volleyball for the Warriors in 2016 (indoor) and 2017 (beach). She appeared in 24 matches for the indoor team in 2016, playing in 78 sets for Pattison’s final Warriors indoor squad. She dished out 35 assists and had 24 service aces

Shimamoto posted 212 digs and averaged 2.72 per set, ranking second on the team that went 21-3 overall and 8-0 in conference action. She helped lead the Warriors to a No. 4 seed in the CCCAA State Playoffs and a third-place finish at the state championships. Shimamoto led the team with 13 digs in the CCCAA State Semifinal against L.A. Pierce, a five-set loss.

In the spring, Shimamoto was a standout on the beach volleyball team. She and teammate Micah Hammond made an incredible run at the CCCAA Beach Volleyball Pairs State Championships. Entering as the No. 27 ranked pairs team, Shimamoto and Hammond ran through the competition and made it all the way to the finals, falling one win short of a state title.
