TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 3-2 (23-25, 18-25, 25-16, 25-19, 15-11) reverse sweep South Coast Conference loss to Long Beach on Friday night at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors (2-14, 2-7) took an early lead but could not close out the Vikings (13-2, 7-2) in a defensive battle. The two teams combined for 179 digs and 14 team blocks on the night.

Three players logged double-doubles for the Warriors with Ryan D'Angelo leading the way with 13 kills and a team-high 23 digs to go along with three aces and two blocks. Sophia Ortiz added 12 kills and 12 digs with two aces while Bridget Dorr had 34 assists with 17 digs in the loss.

For the Vikings, Pearlnaiah Tuilau logged a triple-double as she had 29 assists, 10 kills and 10 digs. Mikayla Curry led all players with 15 kills while Kaylani Moncada was all over the floor for the Vikings, logging three kills from the libero spot while recording 29 digs, nearly a third of the team's 94 total digs for the match.

Neither offense could get much past the other side's defense on Friday night as neither squad attacked at an efficient percentage. The Vikings posted a .168 kill percentage (62-31-184) while the Warriors managed a .085 (45-30-177) clip.

The Warriors took the first two sets to put the Vikings on the brink of suffering a sweep. But after committing 19 attack errors in the first two games, the Vikings combined for just 12 errors in the final three sets to help spur the comeback.

Meanwhile, the Warriors had just 10 errors in the first two sets but committed 20 attack miscues in the final three frames.

The Warriors will now hit the road for three straight matches in conference play beginning with L.A. Harbor on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
