TORRANCE, Calif. --- Freshman Aireon Scott had the best offensive night of her young Warriors career as El Camino College scored a 3-0 (25-7, 25-16, 25-3) South Coast Conference victory over L.A. City on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.

Scott smashed down 14 kills on 19 attempts with just one error for a magnificent .684 attack percentage to help the Warriors snap their three-match losing streak. Sophia Ortiz added nine kills and four service aces with Bridget Dorr dishing out 31 assists and setting the Warriors to a .346 attack percentage as a team.

The Warriors tallied 15 service aces, which tied a season high. Perla Lopez led the way with five aces and Alyssa Estrada added a pair.

The match was only competitive in the second set as the Cubs jumped out to a 6-1 lead on Hanna Gonzalez's serve. Gonzalez scored three aces in that stretch and the Warriors added three attack errors to fall into an early hole.

But the Warriors fired off an 11-1 scoring run to take a 12-7 lead. The Cubs wouldn't be deterred though as they ran off five straight points to tie the set up at 12 apiece. Ortiz would make sure the Warriors never trailed again though as she hammered down one of her seven kills in the second to break the tie and the Warriors never looked back.

Scott shined in the third set as she blasted down eight of her kills in the final frame that saw ECC blast down 17 kills in the set. They attacked at a .500 clip in the closing game with Yasmin Watanabe adding six kills over her own in the third. She would finish the match with seven kills on 17 attempts.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday night as they welcome Rio Hondo to the ECC Gym Complex for a 6 p.m. first serve.
