BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a pair of losses to open the 2023 campaign, falling to Santa Barbara in three sets followed by a four-set loss to Bakersfield.

Freshman Ryan D'Angelo led the Warriors with 21 kills in the two matches while sophomore Sophia Ortiz added 17 kills on the day. Perla Lopez added 46 assists and 17 digs in the two matches combined.

The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday night with another road contest at Moorpark with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m.
