Women’s Volleyball Drops Home Opener to Moorpark

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College's offense struggled in Wednesday night's 3-1 loss (21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-15) to visiting Moorpark in the 2019 home opener at the ECC South Gym.

The Warriors (2-2) were outhit .270 to .086 as the team committed 28 attacking errors in the loss. The defense scrambled around for 62 digs on the night but it was not enough.

Mikayla Clark led the Warriors with a season-high 19 kills and recorded her third double-double with 11 digs but was held to just a .074 attacking percentage. She was the only player on the team in double figures.

Cassidy Crosby added eight kills and Jocelyn Lacroix pitched in with six. Caitlin Donatucci dished out 37 assists and Kelly Donatucci led the team with 21 digs on the night.

The battle at the net also cost the Warriors as they managed just six total blocks (two solo) while the Raiders (1-1) had 13 blocks (one solo).

The Warriors will return to action Friday night as they welcome Cypress to the ECC South Gym. First serve is at 6 p.m.
