Women’s Tennis Edged at Antelope Valley in Season Opener

ANTELOPE VALLEY, Calif. --- El Camino College opened the 2025 regular season with a narrow 5-4 non-conference loss to Antelope Valley on Thursday at AVC.

The Warriors dropped the doubles portion of the match, 2-1, with newcomers Maya Peck and Robyn Wong scoring the lone win on the No. 2 court, 8-3. The No. 1 court was a tightly contested matchup with Jhanine Estigoy and Karen Canela falling to Ariana Valiente and Alex Coons in a tiebreaker {9(7)-8(3)},

It proved pivotal as the teams split the singles portion of the match, 3-3. Wong, Canela and Kathy Magallanes each recorded wins in singles action.
