Ito Advances in Singles and Doubles at CCCAA State Championships

Lina Ito will be pulling double-duty on day two of the California Community College Women's Tennis State Championships after advancing to the round of 32 in both singles and doubles competition on Thursday.

Ito took advantage of a first-round bye in the singles competition and went on to score a win in her only match of the day. She swept past Sabrina Subero to make it to the round of 32, where she will face Sarah Kellogg of Modesto on Friday at 8 a.m.

In the doubles portion of the competition, the Warriors travelled two teams to the state championships but only Ito and teammate Maddie Giese will return to action on Friday. The Warriors' top duo all season had a first-round bye then won their first and only match of the day in convincing fashion, dropping only one game in a sweep.

Giese and Ito will now face Autumn Keay and Emilia Lopez of Riverside in the round of 32 on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
