Warriors Fall at Rio Hondo, 6-3

WHITTIER, Calif. - Women's Tennis fell short at Rio Hondo College on Tuesday afternoon, losing to the host team, 6-3.

In singles, the Warriors went 3-3 against the Roadrunners with two of the Roadrunners' victories coming from forfeits. On court 1, Violet Simpson pulled through to win 6-1, 7-6 over Nicole Robbins. Stephanie Kingham took her matches 6-3, 6-2 while Natsuki Hoshiko earned her victories 6-1, 6-1. Sandy Mejia fell to Erika Garfias 6-0, 6-0.

The Warriors lost all three doubles matches, one of which was also a forfeit due to insufficient players. Simpson and Kingham faced Robbins and Jess Diaz who won 8-4. Hoshiko and Mejia lost to their opponents 8-6.
