NORWALK, Calif. --- No. 5 Seed El Camino College scored a 1-0 victory over No. 4 Cerritos in the first round of the South Coast Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Cerritos Soccer Field.
Catherine Curwood-Wagner's goal in just the third minute stood for the final 87 minutes as the Warriors held on for the win. Julia Camacho recorded the assist on the goal.
Jordan Stemberga picked up her second shutout of the season and seventh win of the year in net making a season-high 11 saves to preserve the win and help the Warriors move on to the SCC Tournament Semifinals.
The Warriors will take on No. 1 seed Mount San Antonio on Tuesday afternoon for a chance to advance to the title game on Thursday at ECC.
