Six Players Named All-Conference, Warriors Travel to Mt. San Jacinto for Playoffs

2023 All-SCC Team

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had six players selected to the 2023 All-South Coast Conference Team, it was announced Tuesday.

Allison Sibley, Ashley Ruiz and Ruby Colcol were all selected to the first team while Claire Mahon, Natalie Rodriguez and Ariana Ramirez were selected to the second team.

Sibley led the Warriors and the conference with 23 goals on the season, a mark that also tied for sixth in the state and fifth in Southern California. Sibley played in all 19 matches for the Warriors, making 18 starts. She scored a team-high eight winning goals. Along with the scoring, Sibley dished out six assists on the year. In her two-year career, Sibley scored 37 goals with 10 assists and 10 game-winning goals in 39 career matches.

Ruiz earned a first-team nod after a solid freshman campaign with the Warriors. She was second on the team with eight goals and 24 points overall. She dished out eight assists and had one game-winning goal. She also played in all 19 matches for the Warriors, making 18 starts.

Colcol was another Warriors freshman to make the first team after playing in all 19 matches. She scored four goals with three assists and had one game-winner.

Mahon was a second-team selection after finishing third on the team with 20 overall points. She scored five goals and led the team with 10 assists. She was the only field player to play and start in all 19 matches for ECC during the regular season.

Rodriguez secured her second straight All-SCC Second Team selection after playing in 18 matches during the regular season. She scored two goals and had five assists.

Ramirez concluded her Warriors career with her first selection to the All-SCC Team, earning a spot on the second team. The Warriors defender played in 17 matches and scored one goal with one assist while manning the back line on a defense that recorded six shutouts on the season.

The Warriors will now head to Mt. San Jacinto on Thursday night for the play-in round of the 3C2A Southern California Women's Soccer Regional Playoffs. The Warriors earned the No. 17 seed and will face the No. 16 Eagles in a night game. The winner of the match will then travel to No. 1 seed Chaffey on Saturday.

The Warriors have now made the postseason in three straight seasons. In the previous two years, the Warriors have been in the play-in round each time and won those games on the road on penalty kicks. In 2021, the Warriors defeated Santa Monica in a penalty-kick shootout and last year they did the same at MiraCosta.
