TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors women's soccer team defeated Cerritos College 5-1 in the fifth place game of the South Coast Conference Tournament.

The Warriors scored four goals in the second half after holding a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Warriors outshot the Falcons 20-to-9 for the game.  They have five different goal scorers in Claire Mahon, Allison Sibley, Ashley Ruiz, Ruby Colcol, and Yoseline Panduro.

The Warriors opened the scoring in the 37th minute.  Vanessa Lopez played a ball down the left side to Ashley Ruiz. Ruiz crossed the ball to Claire Mahon who one-timed the ball into the net for her 5th goal of the season.

The Warriors started the second half with a goal two minutes into the half.  Jackie Hernandez won the ball back at midfield and played a ball up to Allison Sibley down the right side.  Sibley dribbled it into the right side of the box and beat the keeper near post for her 23rd goal of the season.

The Warriors added a third goal in the 51st minute. On a goal kick, the Cerritos center back played the ball to another Falcon who miscontrolled the ball. Sibley stole the ball and dribbled down the right side of the box and sent a cross to Ashley Ruiz who was there for the tap in to make it a 3-0 game.

The Warriors added a fourth goal in the 58th minute off a penalty kick.  Ashley Ruiz had a shot saved by the keeper but as the shot was heading towards goal it went off a Falcons defender's arm off the line.  The referee gave a straight red card to the Falcons defender and Ruby Colcol stepped up and drilled the penalty to make it a 4-0 game.

The Warriors scored their fifth and final goal in the 78th minute.  Ruby Colcol played a ball up to Yoseline Panduro inside the box.  Panduro chipped the keeper to make it a 5-0 game.

The Falcons would get a late consolation goal in the 86th minute after Jaque Adame scored to make it a 5-1 game.

McKenna Morey made six saves for the game in the 68 minutes she played to pick up the win. Nevaeh Johnson played the rest of the game in goal for the Warriors.

The Warriors will now await their fate to see if they're selected for the CCCAA playoffs that begin next week.
