Women’s soccer falls to Rio Hondo at home

TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College women's soccer team lost 2-0 to Rio Hondo at home on Friday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field.

Rio Hondo (8-1, 2-0 SCC) scored two first half goals en route to their victory.  The Roadrunners scored early in the 8th minute by Ashley Vera.  They scored another goal in the 44th minute by the state leader in goals, Alexis Macias 18th goal of the season.  

The overall stat sheet was pretty even between both sides.  El Camino (3-5-2, 0-1-1 SCC) outshot Rio Hondo 15-14.  The Warriors had plenty of good scoring opportunities but couldn't find the back of the net. However the Roadrunners had seven shots on goal to the Warriors three. Both sides had two corner kicks a piece.  The Roadrunners committed 17 fouls to the Warriors 5 fouls.

Karlee Clark made five saves for the game.  The Roadrunner's Daniella Marin made three saves.

The Warriors next game is at Mt. Sac on Tuesday October 12th.  Kick-off is set for 7:00 PM after the conclusion of the men's game.
