Women’s Soccer Comeback Falls Short at Pasadena

PASADENA, Calif. - El Camino College grabbed two second half goals in a 3-2 loss against Pasadena City College on Tuesday afternoon at Robinson Stadium.

The Warriors (2-9-4, 0-2) loss their second conference game in a row and haven't won in eight games since September 24th vs LA Valley.  

Pasadena City College (6-4-4, 1-1) took held a 1-0 at the half.  They scored a quick goal in the second half to make it 2-0 before the Warriors got one goal back a few minutes later to make it 2-1.  However, the Lancers redoubled their lead ten minutes later to make it 3-1 before the Warriors were able to grab a late consolation goal in the 88th minute.  The state leader in goals (25) Katy Coats picked up two goals in the game.

The Warriors outshot the Lancers (13 shots to 12 shots) and had 9 shots on goal compared to the Lancers 11.   The Warriors also had more corner kicks (4 to 0) for the game.

Alexandria Katsouridis scored a goal in the 55th minute after scoring on a rebounded shot from Melisia MedinaSophia Ceman scored her second goal of the season in the 88th minute after stealing the ball from a defender and dribbling around the goalie to bury a shot to make it 3-2.

The Warriors will have the rest of the week off and will face Rio Hondo next Tuesday, October 29th on the road. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
