TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College scored a 40-37 South Coast Conference victory over visiting L.A. Harbor on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors led for most of the game but had to dodge a late charge from the Seahawks and a game-tying 3-point attempt as time expired to escape with the win.

Bella Blum led the team with 13 points and nine rebounds while Presley Tanaka added a caree-high 11 points and six steals to go with four assists.

For the Seahawks, Nyah Belton led the way with 19 points and 12 rebounds while Daniesha Oliver grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds and Destiny Haliburton dropped 12 points with two blocks.

The Warriors led or were tied for three quarters in the game but the Seahawks took their first lead of the night with 6:14 left in regulation on a pair of free throws from Belton.

The squads traded buckets until Keloa Tauala hit a jumper off the glass to make it 38-37 ECC. After a defensive stop, Dayana Merino-Reyes drove the basket and finished a right-handed layup off glass to increase the lead to 40-37 with 1:34 left.

The Seahawks had looks to tie the game but missed three attempts from beyond the arc in the final 90 seconds with Samantha Peralta missing the final shot from the top of the arc with three seconds left. Tanaka secured the rebound off the front iron and the Warriors held on for victory.

The Warriors will conclude the 2024-25 regular season on Friday night as they go on the road to face Compton for a 5 p.m. tip.
