TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College suffered a 68-47 non-conference loss to visiting Citrus on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
The Warriors fell behind early and could not recover as the Owls led wire-to-wire.
In the first quarter, the Owls jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and the Warriors never recovered as ECC would lose the quarter, 18-7.
The rest of the game was tight with the Warriors losing the second and third quarter by a combined 10 points and tying in the fourth but the early hole was too much to overcome.
Sammy Moore flirted with a double-double and had a stellar all-around game as she scored nine points with 10 rebounds, four steals and three blocks in 24 minutes off the bench.
Aisha Burton led the Warriors with 12 points off the bench on 5-for-8 shooting and tied for the team lead with three assists.
For the Owls, Silvia Garcia led the way with 13 points while Samantha Martinez added 10.
The Warriors will return to action on Friday night when they host Rio Hondo at 7 p.m.
