Women’s Basketball Falls to Rio Hondo

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College dropped a 61-49 non-conference game to visiting Rio Hondo on Wednesday evening at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors (1-3) got solid outings from Imani Taitt-Gibbs and Brandy Castaneda but it was not enough as the Roadrunners (4-3) managed to take the win.

Taitt-Gibbs recorded a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds while Castaneda added 15 points and eight boards but only three others managed to put up points for ECC.

For the Roadrunners, Rosalie Avalos notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

The Warriors return to action on Friday night as they host Irvine Valley at 7 p.m. as part of the ECC Crossover. The Roadrunners will return to the ECC Gym Complex to face Citrus in a neutral site game at 5 p.m.
