TORRANCE, Calif. --- Four El Camino College players scored in double figures on Friday night in a 74-67 non-conference victory over Riverside in the ECC Christmas Crossover at the ECC Gymnasium.

Brandy Castaneda led the Warriors (5-6) with 23 points while Jaden Sanderson added 18 points, Piper Takenaka scored 16 and Gialana Orocio provided a spark off the bench with 10 points in the win.

For the Tigers (5-5), five players notched double figures led by Neveah Manning's 13-point effort on the night.

The Warriors led the game wire-to-wire, scoring the first bucket at the 9:00 mark of the first quarter on a jumper from Castaneda. But while ECC led throughout, it was not always a comfortable lead as the Tigers managed to erase multiple double-digit deficits to get back in the game.

The teams were separated by just three points at halftime but a 10-0 scoring run for ECC gave the Warriors a 44-31 advantage. The Tigers answered with a 17-9 spurt to cut the deficit to 53-48  before a jumper from Sanderson gave the Warriors a seven-point edge going to the fourth.

In the final period, the Warriors stretched their lead to 10 again at 61-51 but that's when the Tigers mounted their final stand. Riverside went on an 8-0 run and then a 3-pointer from Shanon Jordan made it a 63-62 game in favor of ECC with 2:29 left in regulation.

The Warriors would not let them get closer though as two free throws from Sanderson and a layup from Castaneda gave ECC a five-point cushion. A layup from Mya Clark with 43 seconds left brought Riverside back within two at 69-67 but a Sarah Downs layup and free throws from Castaneda and Orocio helped secure the win.

The Warriors outscored the Tigers 28-26 in the paint and scored 22 points off 27 Tigers turnovers. Orocio scored 10 of ECC's 12 bench points as she played 24 minutes in the victory.

The Warriors will cap off the ECC Christmas Crossover with a 5 p.m. tipoff against Santa Ana, who lost to Santa Barbara 70-56 on Friday in the opening game of the crossover.
