Sophomore Ashley Nguyen will be continuing her athletic career at Fisher College, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) institution in Boston, Mass.

Nguyen was a two-time All-South Coast Conference Team selection with the Warriors including a Freshman of the Year nod in the 2018-19 season.

As a sophomore in 2019-20, Nguyen played and started in all 27 games for the Warriors, who finished second in the SCC-South Division behind Long Beach. She averaged a career-best 13.1 points per game and scored 354 total points, both the best marks on the Warriors. She led the team in scoring in 12 games and had two double-doubles on the year.

For her career, Nguyen played and started in all 57 of the Warriors games and averaged 12.9 points per game. She also averaged 4.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game.

"Ashley has had a really incredible career leading her team at El Camino," said Jesse Ford, head coach of the Fisher College women's basketball team. "That's exactly that type of player we've been hoping to bring in to add to our program. For the last couple of years, we've been in the position to compete for a conference championship and earn a trip to the national tournament and what Ashley brings to the table can be the final part of the equation for us."

Ford has helped lead the Falcons to new heights in three years as head coach at Fisher College. He led the team to a record 19 victories in 2018-19 and has posted a 52-35 overall record in his three seasons at the helm. Ford believes Nguyen will fit right in and help continue the success at Fisher.

"She can really play and be a threat on her own, but she gets her teammates and the crowd involved, too," Ford said. "People like her are really important for the sport of women's basketball right now and I look forward to watching her compete as a Fisher College Falcon."

Ford added; "Talking with her throughout the recruiting process, it's clear she's got the right aspirations in mind. It's going to be fun to see her continue to develop on the floor, but she's also got the type of character that's going to be a joy to be around every day. That's something we really value, and her new teammates are going to welcome her in immediately."
