Warriors Rally Big in Fourth Quarter To Beat Cerritos

NORWALK, Calif. - After trailing the Cerritos College Falcons for three quarters, El Camino College used a big 23 point fourth quarter to propel the Warriors to a 56-48 win over the Falcons at Cerritos College on Friday evening. 

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Warriors (11-14, 6-2) were losing to the Falcons (9-17, 2-6) by a score of 36-33.  Cerritos made the first basket of the fourth quarter to take a 5-point lead.  

Taylor Hart gave the Warriors a 43-42 lead with 4:39 left in the game after she sank a three pointer.  The Warriors would hang on to that lead for the rest of the game as they outscored the Falcons 23 points to 12 points in the final quarter.

The Warriors shot 60% (6-for-10) in the fourth quarter and shot all of their free throw attempts in the fourth quarter, going 9-for-14 from the charity stripe.  

El Camino shot 39.6% from the field (21-for-53) while the Falcons shot 36.7% (22-for-60). 

Alexia Mason led the Warriors offense with 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting and seven rebounds.  Taylor Hart scored 14 points and had 8 rebounds as she led the second unit that scored 21 points off the bench.

The Warriors will host their final home game of the season on Wednesday, February 19th vs LA Southwest. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM with El Camino set to honor their four sophomores Ashley Nguyen, Alexia Mason, Kourtnie Smith, and Alexandra Ambriz before the game begins.
