Women’s Basketball Fall in Home Opener to Fullerton

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College opened its 2019-20 home slate with a 63-47 non-conference loss to Fullerton Friday night at the ECC North Gym.

The Warriors (0-2) were outscored in every quarter and turned the ball over 20 times in the loss against the Hornets (2-1). Ashley Nguyen led the Warriors with 13 points while Alexia Mason recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jesse Hoffsmith also scored in double figures with 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting.

Moriah Serrano led the Hornets with 11 points while Katie Salas added eight points and a game-high 16 rebounds in the victory. Janelle Ramos added 10 points on 5-for-10 shooting in 20 minutes of action.

The Warriors will return to action Nov. 15 with a home contest against Citrus. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m
