Women’s Basketball Dominates Over Cerritos

CERRITOS, Calif. – The Warriors (11-9, 5-0) defeated Cerritos College (7-16, 2-3), 74-47. The team shot 47.5%, with 44 rebounds and 16 assists.

The Warriors were dominant in the first quarter, up 12-0 in the first 3 minutes. They finished the quarter, 20-11 due to the persistent offense. The Falcons were trailing the entire game and the Warriors maintained consistency with the entire team contributing. According to Coach Shaw, "our goal is to win every quarter", and the team did just that. The second quarter they won 38-27, third quarter 56-40, and fourth 74-47. The Warriors defense was outstanding in the fourth quarter, only allowing the Falcons to score 7 points.

Freshman Kourtney Noa led the team in scoring tonight with 14 points in 18 minutes. Noa was 6 for 8 in total field goal attemps. Noa assisted the Warriors in their victory.

Coach Shaw commented, "Team balance is so important and this was a great overall team win. Everyone did their part."
 

The Warriors have 5 games left in the season and Coach Shaw stated "it is always difficult facing everyone a second time in conference." Currently, the Warriors are the conference leaders. The team plays LA Southwest college on Friday, February 3rd at 7:00 pm.
