Track and Field Heads to RCC Open
RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- El Camino College headed to the RCC Open hosted by Riverside City College on Friday. The men finished fifth overall while the women placed sixth at the event.
Highlights from the meet included:
- Curtis Williams and Gunner Perez each posted a top-10 finish in the 110 high hurdles, placing sixth (16.22) and seventh (16.40) respectively.
- The Warriors had three athletes place in the top-10 in the javelin. Laighton Scott placed sixth (39.46m; 129 feet, 5 inches), Perez was seventh (35.37m; 116 feet) and Joshua Long was ninth (33.45m; 109 feet, 9 inches).
- Elaine Dugmore (8th, 2:30.86) and Arianna Hurtado (9th, 2:33.34) recorded top-10 finishes in the 800 meters.
- Hurtado also place ninth in the 3000 meters with a time of 11:41.22.
- Nia Sinclaire Jarveaux was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 21.09m (69 feet, 2 inches).
The Warriors will return to action on Friday, March 21 at the Pasadena Invitational.
