Muonagor, Gonzales Claim Conference Titles at SCC Finals

TORRANCE, Calif. --- Lotanna Muonagor and Sequoia Gonzales claimed South Coast Conference titles on Saturday at the SCC Finals held at Murock Stadium at El Camino College.

Muonagor took the title in the high jump with a mark of 1.90m (6 feet, 2.75 inches) to finish ahead of the duo from Mount San Antonio. Muonagor was the only athlete to complete the jump, doing so on his second attempt to clinch the title.

Gonzales claimed her second SCC title of the week, claiming the 5,000m with a time of 17:55.49 to set a new ECC record. She added the 5,000m crown to the 10,000m title she won on Tuesday with another school record of 36:58.40.

Teammate Ami Jacobson finished second in the 5,000m with a time of 18:00.54. Coupled with her third-place finish in the 10,000m, both she and Gonzales automatically qualified for the 3C2A Southern California in both events.

The Warriors also had a number of athletes qualify for the upcoming 3C2A Southern California Regionals Prelims, which get underway on Friday, May 3 at Cerritos College. The 3C2A SoCal Finals will take place on May 10 at Cerritos.
