Pitts Records Win as Warriors Send Small Contingent to Golden Eagle Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- Sophomore Alexis Pitts highlighted a small contingent of El Camino College athletes that competed at the Golden Eagle Invitational on Thursday at Jesse Owens Track on the campus of Cal State L.A.

Pitts recorded a victory in the 200 meters with a time of 25.29, a new personal record. She edged unattached runner Melina Doiron (25.53) with Ashanti Gaither of Cal State L.A. rounding out the podium in third with a time of 26.12.

Pitts' teammate Rickette Graham placed fourth overall with a personal record of her own, finishing in 26.69.

Along with the win in the 200m, Pitts placed second in the 100m with a time of 11.97, also a new personal record. Teammate Jasmin Williams also set a new personal record in the event, finishing seventh with a time of 13.00.

The Warriors full squad will be back in action on Tuesday for the South Coast Conference Championships Prelims with the finals slated for Saturday, April 27 at Murdock Stadium.
