Marschall Highlights Performances at SoCal Finals

SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- Freshman Lincoln Marschall highlighted a number of El Camino College Track and Field athletes that performed well at the 3C2A Southern California Regional Finals on Friday at San Diego Mesa.

Marschall won the 400 intermediate hurdles with a time of 52.66 and was one of 11 ECC athletes that qualified for the 3C2A Track and Field State Championships, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 19-20 at Modesto College.

His victory helped the Warriors finish fourth on the men's side with 45 points. Meanwhile, the women's team finished ninth out of 22 teams competing. Mount San Antonio won both the men's and women's team titles.

Along with Marschall, the Warriors had seven total individuals qualify for state along with two relay teams on Friday:

  • Anthony Taylor: 2nd Place; 110 HH (14.53, Personal Best)
  • Alyssa Matsuzaki: 2nd Place; 400H (63.41, Personal Best)
  • Men's 4x100m Relay (Taylor, Jaylen Allen, Xerxes Reamer, Marschall): 3rd Place (41.08, Season Best)
  • Ami Jacobson: 4th Place; 10,000m (38:58.80) **qualified on May 5**
  • Matsuzaki: 5th Place; 100H (14.65, Personal Best and 7th ECC All-Time Performer)
  • Men's 4x400m Relay (Yuto Tamada, Taylor, Reamer, Marschall): 5th Place (3:17.54)
  • Lotanna Muonagor: 5th Place; High Jump (6 feet, ¼ inch)
  • Chinedu Adolf: 6th Place; Discus (144 feet, 9 inches, Personal Best)
  • Rania Gomaa: 6th Place; 1500m (4:48.78, Personal Best)
  • James Neely: 6th Place; 800m (1:54.87)
