Warriors Compete in First Conference Dual Meet of Season

WALNUT, Calif. --- El Camino College competed in its first South Coast Conference dual meet of the season on Friday at Mount San Antonio College as it faced off against the host Mounties and Cerritos.
On the men's side, the Warriors split the day as they downed Cerritos by a score of 133-129 while falling to Mt. SAC 226-45. The Warriors used a better performance in the 4x400m relay to overtake the Falcons and score the win. They trailed by three points heading into the event.
On the women's side, the Warriors were edged by the Falcons, 109-108 while suffering a 199-62 loss to the Mounties.
Iyanah Samayoa was the high point scorer for the Warriors and second overall. She won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:24.47, a mark that vaulted her to fourth place on the ECC All-Time Performer list. Meanwhile, Olivia Mozian placed third in the same event with a time of 11:49.72 to place her in 14th place in the all-time list.
The Warriors will hang out in Walnut for one more night as they are set to compete in the Mt. SAC Invitational on Saturday.
