Samayoa, Song Lead Warriors at Triple Distance Invite

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College hosted the fourth annual ECC Triple Distance Invite on Friday morning at the ECC Aquatics Center.

Overall, the Warriors finished second on both the men's and women's side of the competition. The men posted 70 total points while the women recorded 86 points. Bakersfield claimed the top spot on both side with 90 points on the women's side and 158 on the men's side.

Iyanah Samayoa and Ryan Song were the top performers for the Warriors on Friday as each swimmer improved on their meet and pool records.

Samayoa scored wins in the 50 (31.72), 100 (1:07.74) and 200 (2:26.95) breastroke events and lowered her own meet records in each event in the process.  

Meanwhile, Song lowered his three meet records in the 100 (55.68), 200 (2:04.38) and 300 IM (3:20.27), finishing first in each event.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday morning when they travel to the Golden West Invite in Huntington Beach, Calif.
