Warriors Compete at Riverside Invitational

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The El Camino College men's and women's swim team headed to the Riverside Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Both the men's and women's team finished in fifth place with the women posting 308 total points while the men recorded 299 points. Orange Coast swept the event with the women scoring 805 points while the men scored 893.5.

On the women's side, Mia Park continued her outstanding season for the Warriors as she recorded multiple impressive finishes.

The freshman won two events with the 500 freestyle (5:16.90) and the 100 freestyle (53.73). Her time in the 100 free is the sixth-best finish in the ECC All-Time Record Book.

She also posted a few second-place finishes including the 200 breaststroke, where her time of 2:36.41 became the sixth best finish in the event in ECC history.

On the men's side, Dylan Kenney had the best individual performance as he placed third in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:42.44. Joshua Bacolod posted a fifth-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:23.89. Gary Bellingham also had a solid performance in the pool as he finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke, posting a time of 1:04.60, coming just one-tenth of a second short of earning a top-five finish.  

The Warriors will return to action on Friday with a South Coast Conference dual meet against Long Beach and Pasadena at Long Beach City College. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m.
