Men Place Third; Due Notches Four More Wins at Mt. SAC Invite

The El Camino College men's and women's swim team had solid showings individually and as a team at the Mount San Antonio Invite on Feb. 20-22 at Mt. San Antonio College.

The men's team finished third overall in the 13-team event with 547 points. Mt. SAC won the event with 917 total points with Orange Coast finishing in second with 749. Will Ngo was the men's high scorer as he accumulated 60 individual points. His highlights included a second-place finish in the 50 backstroke along with top-10 finishes in the 100 backstroke (6th), 200 backstroke (7th) and 50 butterfly (9th).

Ethan Endicott, Kyle Thorne, Steven Olsen, Ethan Tom, Anthony Dupin St. Cyr and Daniel Fuentes also all had multiple top-10 finishes in numerous events to lead the Warriors to a top-3 team finish.

On the women's side, the Warriors finished 10th overall out of 14 teams with 213 points. Every team was looking up at Sierra College, which dominated the event with 1281 total points, besting second-place Orange Coast by more than 800 points.

The highlights for the women once again came from sophomore Ida Due as she notched four more victories at the Mt. SAC Invite. She finished first in the 500 freestyle, 100 IM, 1650 freestyle and the 400 IM. She added some top-five finishes in the 50 breasstroke (2nd) and the 100 freestyle (4th). Her time of 1:05.41 in the 100 IM moved her to fifth all-time on the ECC Swimming record book.

The Warriors return to action on Friday, Feb. 28 with a South Coast Conference dual meet against Mount San Antonio and Pasadena at Mt. SAC.
