Due Paces Warriors at South Coast Conference Pentathlon

Sophomore Ida Due continued where she left off in her first season with El Camino College, scoring four victories in five events to highlight the Warriors opening meet at the South Coast Conference Pentathlon Friday at Mount San Antonio College.

Due recorded four wins in the five events in which she competed. She won the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.20), the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.40), the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.62) and the 100-yard freestyle (56.92). Her only non-win was a third-place finish in the 100-yard breastroke (1:15.79).

Overall, Due was credited with 96 points on the day, the most individual points of any swimmer in the meet. The women's team would use that effort to record a fourth-place finish with 170 points.

On the men's side, the team also finished in fourth with 120 points. William Ngo was the top scorer for the Warriors with 17 points.

Anthony Dupin de Saint Cyr finished eighth in the 100 fly (57.49) with Ngo (100 back; 1:00.84) and Ethan Endicott (100 free; 51.22) also recording 8th place finishes in their respective events.

The Warriors will return to action at the Mt. SAC Invitational, which begins with the diving events on Thursday.
