No. 5 Softball Wins Fourth Straight

TORRANCE, Calif. --- No. 5 El Camino College recorded its fourth straight victory with an 8-0, six-inning South Coast Conference win over L.A. Harbor on Wednesday at the ECC Softball Field.
The Warriors recorded their ninth run-rule victory of the season as the top four hitters in the ECC lineup were nearly perfect, combining to go 6-for-9 with seven runs scored and six RBIs.
Savanna Kastigar was 2-for-2 with two runs scored while Cheyenne Navarro was 1-for-1 with an RBI triple and two walks. Lilly Lewis was also 2-for-2 with a double while Emma Garcia was 1-for-4 with three runs scored on the day.
In the circle, Mahlia Espino and Lexi Ramirez combined to shutout the Seahawks. Espino drew the starts and recorded the first six outs of the game before Ramirez came in to pitch in relief with one on and no outs in the third. Ramirez would pitch three innings and surrendered just one hit before Espino returned to the game to pitch the sixth.
The Warriors scored seven of their eight runs in the last four innings of the game with Garcia hitting an RBI groundout to drive in the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
The Warriors will continue a busy five-game week with their third straight SCC game on Thursday at Compton. First pitch is set for 1:30 p.m.
