TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 7-0 non-conference loss to Palomar on Tuesday at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors managed just three hits in the game while the Comets scored five times in the first two innings to take command of the game and eventually go on to win.

Emma Garcia, Cerise Cervantes and Lilly Lewis all had hits for the Warriors in the loss.

Comets pitcher Guilianna Clavel pitched a complete-game shutout as she allowed three hits and struck out seven.

The Warriors' best rally came in the third inning when they loaded the base with one out against Clavel when still trailing 5-0. But Clavel struck out the last two batters of the inning and ended up striking out the side in the frame to get out of trouble.

The Comets would add runs in the sixth and seven inning while the Warriors had just one more player get into scoring position the rest of the game.

The Warriors will return to action on Thursday when they host Cerritos at 3 p.m.
