TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College came up short in a non-conference game against L.A. Mission, losing 3-2 on Tuesday at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors (17-13) had their three-game winning streak snapped by the Eagles (18-12) after a very close game.

The Warriors took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning as Leesa Parral drew a leadoff walk against Eagles starter Daryanna Ductoc. She would advance to third on consecutive groundouts and then scored on an infield single by Malia Martin to put the Warriors ahead after one.

They held the lead until the third inning when the Eagles loaded the bases against Warriors starter Kat Gutierrez. Eliza Flores then singled to left to bring in Jizzell Ruiz with the tying run and then Sevannah Miller scored from second after an error handling the ball in left to put the Eagles ahead.

In the fourth, Ruiz would hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1, a run the would prove very important.

The Warriors mounted a rally in the sixth inning as Kayla Inzunza singled to third and then stole second before Alyssa Lujan singled to center to bring in Inzunza to make it 3-2 and putting an end to Ductoc's day in the circle.

After a strikeouts, Skylar Sanchez singled to left to put two runners on and then a successful double steal put the game-tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position with one out.

But reliever Samantha Flores induced a foul out from Viviana Tamayo and a popup from Breanna Padilla to end the threat and keep the Eagles ahead.

The Warriors were retired in order in the seventh to end the game. They will return to action on Friday afternoon as they host Mount San Antonio in a South Coast Conference game at 3 p.m.
