TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College recorded an 8-0 South Coast Conference victory over Compton in five innings on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors (13-11, 4-7) dominated the game throughout and capitalized on a number of Tartars (0-11, 0-11) miscues to score the run-rule win.

Pitcher Destiny Ostorga allowed just one hit and two base runners on the day while facing one batter over the minimum. She struck out a career-best seven hitters on Tuesday and also scored a run on offense.

Sarah Leyba, Gabriela Ortega and Leesa Parral all recorded two hits on the day with Leyba doing it after entering the game as a pinch-hitter in the fourth inning.

The Warriors also benefitted from five Tartars errors which allowed four unearned runs to cross the plate including the game-winner in the fifth inning.

Madilyn Radeke hit a sharp ball back to the circle that took Tartars' pitcher Destiny Vega's glove off her hand. Vega picked up the ball and attempted to throw Radeke out at first, but the Warriors outfielder had already arrived at first and Vega spiked her throw and it rolled past first base, allowing Noemi Sandoval to score the eighth run of the day and secure the walk-off, run-rule win.

The Warriors will now return to action on Thursday and face Pasadena at the ECC Softball Field with first pitch set for 3 p.m. The Lancers have beaten the Warriors twice this season and currently sit in fourth in the SCC standings, 3.5 games ahead of the Warriors.
