2020 3CFCA All-Academic Team

The El Camino College softball team had four players selected to the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) Academic All-State Team, it was announced Tuesday.

Mina Nakawake, Amie Crawford, Kate Cunningham and Kassidy Robinson were each selected as part of the 202 selections up and down the state of California. The grades taken into account for the 3CFCA All-Academic team are from the athletes' first semester of competition and the 2019 Fall Semester.

Nakawake played in 19 games this season before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. She was en route to a career year as she had 29 hits with a .475 batting average. She had seven doubles, three triples and one home run with 20 runs scored.

Crawford, Cunningham and Robinson were all members of the 2019 squad that went 37-8 overall and 20-2 in South Coast Conference play. They helped lead the Warriors to the SCC-South Division title and a trip to the CCCAA Softball Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Members of the Academic All-State Team are those individuals who post a 3.5 overall GPA and pass a minimum of 24 total units after their initial season of competition. The 2020 edition features student-athletes from all over the State of California, as far South as San Diego to as far North as Weed.
