Softball Draws No. 4 Seed In Regional Playoffs; Hosts San Diego Mesa

The El Camino College softball team was named the No. 4 seed in the 2019 California Community College Softball Southern California Regional Playoffs.

The Warriors will host No. 13 seed San Diego Mesa at the ECC Softball Field beginning Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Game two of the series will take place Saturday at noon and a winner-take-all game three will follow at approximately 2 p.m., if necessary.

Defending state champions Mount San Antonio drew the No. 1 seed in Southern California with Cypress earning the No. 2 seed and Palomar getting the No. 3 spot.

The Warriors had a stellar year in 2019, claiming the program's third straight South Coast Conference, South Division title. They finished the year with a 34-6 overall record and 20-2 mark in conference play with their only two defeats coming against Mount San Antonio.

Coming into the postseason, the Warriors are also riding an 18-game winning streak with their last loss coming on March 23 against Cypress.

Meanwhile, the Olympians come into the playoffs after going 28-10 on the year and 13-3 in Pacific Coast Conference action, which was good for second place behind Palomar.
