WHITTIER, Calif. – El Camino College kept up its winning ways Thursday afternoon as the Warriors upended Rio Hondo, 19-5, in six innings to collect their 10th straight win.

The Warriors (19-5) used two huge innings to turn a very tight contest into a rout over the Roadrunners. The Warriors pounded out 14 hits on the day and capitalized on 11 errors by the Roadrunners. Ashley Machado went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs while Brigid Antonelli went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Ronni Silas added two hits and four RBIs in the victory as Brooke Sarro collected the victory in the circle, going six innings and allowing five runs, only two earned, on eight hits. She struck out six without issuing a walk.

The Roadrunners took the early lead, plating a run in the bottom of the first after Serina Castrellon doubled in Brenae Martinez to make it 1-0.

It stayed that way until the fourth inning when the Warriors erupted for seven runs on six hits and four errors. Haley Reed tied things up after she singled in Alyssa Wing. Reed would advance to third on a two-base error.

Kamryn Fisher walked, stole second and then took third on a fielder's choice by Antonelli. Reed was erased on the play but Silas vaulted the Warriors to the lead with a bases-clearing triple to make it 3-1 Warriors. Rylee Rehders walked, stole second and then Kassandra Hernandez singled to bring in two runs and make it 5-1.

Machado then stepped in and capped off the inning with a two-run shot to put the Warriors up by six runs.

Two innings later, the Warriors put the game away as then plated 12 runs on six hits and seven errors by the Roadrunners. Rio Hondo would score four times in the bottom half of the frame but it was not enough.
