Warriors Split Final Tournament of Regular Season

CHULA VISTA, Calif. --- El Camino College split its final tournament of the regular season this past weekend at the Dia de los Muertos Tournament hosted by Southwestern.

FRIDAY

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 19, SOUTHWESTERN 12

The Warriors opened the weekend with a dominant win over the host Jaguars. The Warriors led 15-6 at halftime and never looked back.

Max Hale scored four times while Cooper Josic and Zane Johnson added three apiece with Sam Adams making eight saves in three quarters to record the win.

CYPRESS 13, WARRIORS 11

An even match throughout except in the third where the Warriors were outscored 2-0, which proved to be the difference. The teams were tied at 7-7 at halftime and they each scored four goals in the final period.

Hale added five more goals with Robbie Josic scoring three times.

SATURDAY

WARRIORS 14, PALOMAR 12

The two teams played another tight contest with the Warriors coming out on top in this one. Hale scored four times with Scott Fujiwara and Robbie Josic each adding three in the win.\

GROSSMONT 10, WARRIORS 9

The Griffins scored twice in the fourth while the Warriors only managed one goal which proved to be the difference.

Heitor Trefilio and Zane Johnson led the way with three goals apiece and Vios Lopez made nine saves in the loss.

The Warriors will now head to the South Coast Conference Tournament hosted by Mount San Antonio on Friday against Chaffey.
