Men’s Water Polo Nets Four Selections to All-Conference Team
TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had four players selected to the 2022 All South Coast Conference Team, it was announced recently.
Bronson Garel and Zackary Johnson both earned spots on the All-SCC First Team while Matheus Trefilio and Gary Bellingham each netted spots on the All-SCC Second Team. Tyler Reed and Blake Klade were each named honorable mention.
Garel had a breakout freshman season for the Warriors as he tallied 91 goals in 29 matches while making 27 starts. He also added 30 assists and led the team with 54 steals and 25 field blocks.
Johnson was second on the team with 61 goals scored and added 37 assists with 20 steals and seven field blocks in 30 matches played including 28 starts.
Trefilio was third on the team after scoring 58 times in 2022 while adding 35 assists and 36 steals. He played and started in all 31 matches for the Warriors this season.
Bellingham netted his second straight selection to the All-SCC Team. He played and started 30 matches in goal for the Warriors, going 15-15 overall. He made 292 saves and also led all players on the Warriors with 80 steals.
Reed led the Warriors with 46 assists on the season to go along with 34 goals, 40 steals and six field blocks. Klade had 28 goals and 17 assists with 30 steals and 13 field blocks.
