Men’s Water Polo Scores Dominant Win over Fullerton in Home Opener

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College hosted its first ever match at the ECC Aquatics Center on Wednesday afternoon and scored an impressive 12-3 win over Fullerton.

Freshman Bronson Garel led the Warriors with three goals on the day with Aidan Gutierrez adding two. Overall, nine different players tallied a goal for ECC including goalie Gary Bellingham.

The match started tight with only one goal scored in the opening quarter. Gutierrez found the back of the net with 7:41 left in the first and then neither team could score for the rest of the period.

In the second, the Warriors opened things up, outscoring the Hornets 4-1. Garel scored all three of his goals consecutively in the second quarter to put ECC up 4-0. After a Fullerton score, Blake Klade scored with 26 seconds left to give ECC a 5-1 lead at the half.

Another 4-1 quarter in the third put the game away for the Warriors as four different players scored for ECC in the period.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday, Sept. 16 when they head to the Mt. SAC Tournament.
