Rubke named Co-Coach of the Year as Seven Warriors Given All-South Coast Honors

All-South Coast Conference Teams

TORRANCE, Calif. -  The El Camino College men's water polo team picked up a slew of awards as the All-South Coast Conference teams were announced.

Second year head coach Noah Rubke picked up the biggest award after being named Co-Coach of the Year along with Mt. Sac's Marc Ruh.  In his second year, Coach Rubke has led the Warriors from an 11-17 finish last year to a heavily improved 20-11 finish. It was the second most victories in a single season in El Camino College men's water polo history and their first playoff appearance since 1993.  

The Warriors had two players named to the first team, two players named to the second team, and three players given honorable mention.

Nate Griffith was named to the All-South Coast Conference first team.  The utility man from Manhattan Beach was second on the team in goals scored (89), second on the team in assists (58), and led the team with 84 steals.  Griffith joined the single season all-time top 10 performance record in Goals (7th), Assists (new school record), Steals (9th), and Exclusions Drawn (8th). For his career, Griffith set the new school record in assists with 79 and third in Exclusions Drawn with 48.

Cole Allyn was named to the All-South Coast Conference first team.  The freshman led the team with 101 goals scored. He also was third on the team with 56 assists and had 12 blocks and drew 26 exclusions.  Allyn was 7th overall in the state in goals scored. Allyn joined the single all-time top 10 performances in goals (2nd), field blocks (6th), and exclusions drawn (7th).

Brandon Soto was named to the All-South Coast Conference second team.  The sophomore recorded 296 saves and had a 46.2% save percentage. He was third in the state in saves made.  Soto also had 28 assists and 42 steals. Soto joined the career all-time top 10 performances in total number of saves with 608 (second on the list).

Brandon Guerrero was named to the All-South Coast Conference second team.  The freshman was third on the team with 57 goals scored. He also had 19 assists, 28 steals, and drew 25 exclusions. Guerrero set the 8th best single all-time top 10 performance in exclusions drawn.

Seth Ulrich was named an All-South Coast Conference honorable mention for the second year in a row.  The sophomore appeared in every game for the Warriors and was fourth on the team with 49 goals scored.  He tallied 10 assists, 16 steals, 7 blocks, and drew 40 exclusions. Ulrich joined the history books with exclusions drawn for a single season (second) and 78 for his career which again made him second on the career all-time top 10.

Josh Terry was named an All-South Coast Conference honorable mention.  The freshman scored 30 goals for the season. He also tallied 71 steals and 25 field blocks.  He was sixth in the state in steals. Terry joined the single season all-time top 10 Warrior history books in assists (7th) and set a new school record in field blocks.

Joseph Banda was named an All-South Coast Conference honorable mention.  The freshman was fifth on the team with 36 goals scored. He led the Warriors with 59 assists.  He also tallied 34 steals, 8 blocks, and drew 16 exclusions. Banda joined the El Camino single season history books by setting a new school record in assists and came in ninth on the list in field blocks.
