Men’s Water Polo Goes Unbeaten on the Weekend

The El Camino College men's water polo team ran its winning streak to 10 games after going 4-0 over the weekend at the Santa Monica Mini Tournament on Friday followed by the Southwestern College Mini Tournament on Saturday.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 16, VENTURA 13

The Warriors opened the Santa Monica Mini Tournament with a tight win over the Pirates. Nate Griffith notched six goals and added two assists to lead the offense while Seth Ulrich scored four times on five shots. Brandon Guerrero added three goals and Cole Allyn had a pair of goals to go with a team high four assists. Brandon Soto made 18 saves in net.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 13, SOUTHWESTERN 7

In the final match on Friday, the Warriors used stellar defense in the third quarter, shutting out the Jaguars 3-0 in the frame to extend their lead to 12-5 and ECC cruised to the win from there.

Guerrero and Allyn led the offense with three goals apiece with Adian Morvice and Joseph Banda adding two goals in the win. Griffith added four assists with Soto making seven saves in two quarters while Ali Ahmad made nine saves in his two quarters of action.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 15, SOUTHWESTERN 6

On Saturday, the Warriors picked up right where they left off, scoring the win over the host Jaguars at the Southwestern College Mini Tournament.

A 4-1 third quarter for the Warriors once again gave ECC the separation it needed to cruise to a win. Allyn led the offense with five goals and Seth Ulrich added three. Griffith notched one goal and again led the team with four assists.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 15, GROSSMONT 11

Griffith led the charge for ECC with five goals and Allyn added three as the Warriors completed the perfect 5-0 week and extended their win streak to 10 games.

Banda had two goals and four assists and Soto made 11 saves in the victory.

The Warriors will have the week off before returning to action at the South Coast Conference Championships hosted by Pasadena City College on Nov. 7.
