Allyn Scores Four but Warriors Fall to Cerritos

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College started off strong in its home opener against Cerritos on Wednesday afternoon but a scoring run from the visitors proved to be the difference as the Warriors fell 16-9 at the ECC Pool.

Cole Allyn led the way offensively for the Warriors, scoring four times for ECC. Brandon Guerrero and Adian Morvice added two goals and one assist apiece and Josh Terry also scored. William Ngo led the team with two assists and Nate Griffith had one helper.

Brandon Soto made 10 saves and had one steal in goal for the Warriors in a losing effort.

The match was close early as the Warriors trailed 4-2 after one period but the Falcons outscored ECC 5-2 in the second to pull away. A 6-1 advantage for Cerritos in the final period sealed the deal.

The Warriors were outshot 30-28 in the match and were 3-for-11 on powerplays while Cerritos was 4-for-14 with the man advantage.

The team will look to regroup this weekend as the Warriors head to the Mount San Antonio Tournament beginning on Friday when they take on Orange Coast (11:10 a.m.) and Cuesta (2:40 p.m.).
