Men’s Water Polo Sunken by Long Beach At Home

TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College fell to Long Beach City College at home, 19-7 on Wednesday afternoon at the ECC Pool.

The Vikings (6-4, 2-0) jumped to an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter.  Sam Waters was able to pull one goal back for El Camino (4-9, 0-4) before the Vikings scored one more goal before the quarter finished.  

The Vikings held onto a 10-1 lead at halftime.  The Warriors kept pace with the Vikings in the third quarter, being narrowly outscored 4-3.   Matthew Thorne scored two goals in the third quarter and Aidan Morvice scored one.

The Vikings were able to outscore the Warriors 5 to 3 in the final quarter to finish the game at 19-7.  Matthew Thorne scored two more goals in the last period and Sam Waters scored one.

Brandon Soto was great in goal for the Warriors by making 10 saves for the game.  

The Warriors will look to shake off Wednesday's loss as they to Saddleback College for the Saddleback Tournament.  They will play in four separate contests against Grossmont, San Diego Miramar, Santa Monica, and Southwestern on Friday and Saturday.
