Griffith’s Offense Not Enough as Warriors Edged at Chaffey

Nate Griffith led the Warriors in scoring and El Camino College held a lead going into the final quarter but could not hold on in a 13-12 loss at Chaffey on Monday afternoon.

Griffith scored six times on the day and the Warriors held a two-goal advantage going into the fourth quarter but the Panthers outscored ECC 4-1 in the final frame to score the narrow victory.

Matthew Thorne was the only other Warriors player to record multiple goals on the day as he found the back of the net twice on five shots. Ryan Winkler, Jason Gottschalk, Kyle Thorne and Ikaika Alluin all recorded a goal in the loss.

Nicholas Elias made eight saves in net and dished out two assists in the losing effort.

The Warriors return to action on Friday as they head to Santa Monica for a pair of matches against the host Corsairs and San Diego Mesa.
